Responsibilities and Duties
  • Install, adjust, service and repair shop equipment, machines and building installations, including heating, plumbing, electrical, etc.
  • To build or assist in building new machinery or equipment
  • To make parts, simple tools and gauges
  • Perform general repairs or assist with major repairs to building installations, including heating, plumbing, electrical, etc.
  • Assist with major installations, set-up, and repair of machines or equipment
  • Operate standard machines to make parts, simple tools, etc.
  • To be able to do some fairly close-fitting operations
  • To be able to do simply heat-treating operations
  • Drives the company truck on occasion
  • Must be able to do simple shop calculations
  • Must have some knowledge of the metals commonly used

Hammond Manufacturing Company Limited, a leading Canadian manufacturer of electrical and electronic enclosures, is currently seeking quality-driven individuals to join our Production Team as a BRAKE PRESS OPERATOR on Afternoon Shift (Monday-Thursday 4:20pm-2:20am)

Summary of Duties

The successful applicant will be required to set up and operate a variety of brake presses in the production of electrical enclosures.

Qualifications
  • The ability to understand and comprehend shop drawings and technical documentation
  • Ability to use measurement equipment to verify product dimensions and specifications
  • Strong technical ability to understand and demonstrate shop math
  • The ability to use and understand how to operate a PC to navigate the production ERP system and call upon drawings/BOM for each order
  • The ability to follow established policies, procedures and production schedules
  • The ability to work with others through excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to have an excellent attention to detail and be quality focused
  • Position requires heavy lifting and overhead reaching- will be required to attend press safety training

M.I.G./T.I.G.- Large Enclosures Stainless Steel Fabrication Cell Apply Now

Qualifications
  • As part of a cross-functional team the successful candidate will be required to perform and rotate amongst a variety of functions within the production line.
  • These functions include Stainless Steel MIG and TIG welding, spot-welding, stud-welding, and finishing/polishing.
    • MUST have prior experience with Stainless Steel metal fabrication and be able to demonstrate MIG/GMAW and TIG welding skills.
    • The ability to understand and comprehend shop documents/technical documentation
    • Strong technical ability to understand and demonstrate shop math which includes adding numbers, converting decimals to fractions, determining dimensions, converting measurements, reading and understanding technical documents and working with fractions.
    • The ability to use and understand how to operate a PC to navigate the production ERP system and call upon drawings/BOM for each order.

The successful candidate will be required to perform a variety of functions within the Large Enclosure Mild Steel Line on Afternoon Shift (Monday-Thursday 4:20pm-2:20am)

Qualifications
  • As part of a cross-functional team the successful candidate will be required to perform and rotate amongst a variety of functions within the production line
  • These functions include MIG welding, spot-welding, stud-welding, finishing, grainer operation and assembly functions
  • MUST have prior experience with metal fabrication and be able to demonstrate MIG/GMAW welding skills.

Location: Guelph, Ontario, Canada

  • Required to lay-out the work, prepare joints and produce assemblies of commercially sound quality by electric arc welding (including shielded arc welding) in the flat horizontal and vertical position
  • Strong technical ability to understand and demonstrate shop math which includes adding numbers, converting decimals to fractions, determining dimensions, converting measurements, reading and understanding technical documents and working with fractions.
  • The ability to use and understand how to operate a PC to navigate the production ERP system and call upon drawings/BOM for each order.
  • Must have some knowledge of the welding technology including distortion control, equipment used, and metals commonly used
  • Will work with hand tools such as hammers, saws, files, other shop tools, scales, calipers, gauges, squares, jigs and fixtures, etc. Electric welder, electrodes, clamps, portable electric tools such as drills, grinders, etc.
  • Must be familiar with all aspects of M.I.G.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Must be able to work both day and afternoon shifts. (Days M-F 7:45am-4:15pm; Aft M-Th 4:20pm-2:20am)
