Scope of Work & Knowledge Required
  • Required to lay-out the work, prepare joints and produce assemblies of commercially sound quality by electric arc welding (including shielded arc welding) in the flat horizontal and vertical position
  • Strong technical ability to understand and demonstrate shop math which includes adding numbers, converting decimals to fractions, determining dimensions, converting measurements, reading and understanding technical documents and working with fractions.
  • The ability to use and understand how to operate a PC to navigate the production ERP system and call upon drawings/BOM for each order.
  • Must have some knowledge of the welding technology including distortion control, equipment used, and metals commonly used
  • Will work with hand tools such as hammers, saws, files, other shop tools, scales, calipers, gauges, squares, jigs and fixtures, etc. Electric welder, electrodes, clamps, portable electric tools such as drills, grinders, etc.
  • Must be familiar with all aspects of M.I.G.

Must be able to work both day and afternoon shifts. (Days M-F 7:45am-4:15pm; Aft M-Th 4:20pm-2:20am)


Stainless Steel Production Workers Apply Now

Summary of Duties

Performs a variety of duties related to the fabrication and production of stainless steel and aluminium enclosures including: spot-welding, stud-welding, metal finishing, graining, paper peeling, bead blasting, plasma machine operation, and material handling functions.

Qualifications
  • Prior work experience grinding and metal finishing stainless steel product
  • The ability to understand and comprehend shop documents/technical documentation
  • Strong technical ability to understand and demonstrate shop math which includes adding numbers, converting decimals to fractions, determining dimensions, converting measurements, reading and understanding technical documents and working with fractions.
  • The ability to use and understand how to operate a PC to navigate the production ERP system and call upon drawings/BOM for each order
  • The ability to follow established policies, procedures and production schedules
  • The ability to work with others through excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to have an excellent attention to detail and be quality focused
  • Completion of Grade 12 diploma or equivalent is preferred

Manufacturing Process Engineer Apply Now

Scope

Responsible for positively impacting our business through planned cost reduction, quality improvements and improve the Health, Safety and wellbeing of our employees.  Through Improvement of manufacturing processes/procedures, equipment / tooling alternatives, sequence and flow of operations.

Responsibilities
  • Work in compliance with Hammond Manufacturing Safety, Environmental, Quality and Production Systems
  • Conduct time studies to establish set standards, and benchmark productivity improvements and balanced flow 
  • Design and lead Kaizen events, evaluate the results and establish procedures to support the results. 
  • Actively developing and managing projects
  • Develop and/or improvement assembly, automation and auxiliary manufacturing processes and equipment 
  • Work closely with operations staff, design engineering, purchasing, sales, technical support resources and suppliers to ensure timely completion of projects
  • Lead work cell / Line flow Layout Design, construction, integration
  • Maintain accurate facility layout in CAD files 
  • Support Design engineering with new product development research that meets our factory capabilities
  • Develop work instructions
Qualifications
  • A diploma in Mechanical Technology, Industrial engineering or comparable
  • Experience with managing projects and achieving milestones to completion 
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in a metal fabrication environment
  • Experience with performing time studies
  • Excellent PC based computer skills
  • AutoCAD experience for completing plant layout changes
  • Solid Edge or similar 3D CAD experience is an asset
  • Strong technical knowledge and ability in process engineering disciplines
  • Demonstrate excellent level of analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues.
  • Ability to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrently in an organized fashion
  • Ability to communicate progress status to team members and management at all levels
  • Knowledge of manufacturing industry practices, engineering principles
  • Process improvement tools such as Lean /Six Sigma
  • MRP experience is an asset
  • Lean/Process Improvement background

Summary of Duties

The successful applicant will be required to set up and operate a variety of brake presses in the production of electrical enclosures.

Qualifications
  • The ability to understand and comprehend shop drawings and technical documentation
  • Ability to use measurement equipment to verify product dimensions and specifications
  • Strong technical ability to understand and demonstrate shop math
  • The ability to use and understand how to operate a PC to navigate the production ERP system and call upon drawings/BOM for each order
  • The ability to follow established policies, procedures and production schedules
  • The ability to work with others through excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to have an excellent attention to detail and be quality focused
  • Position requires heavy lifting and overhead reaching- will be required to attend press safety training
