As a member of the Engineering team the successful candidate will be responsible to perform various functions in the processing of standard products and specials while maintaining detailed and accurate process related information.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Work in compliance with Hammond Manufacturing Safety, Environmental, Quality and Production Systems
  • Daily tasks would include but are not limited to - Laser, foam in place gasket, and multi stud programming. Also includes creation of BOM’s, Routings, and fixture design
  • Continuously improve efficiency, systems, and quality
  • Work closely with Production, Design, Sales, and Suppliers to ensure timely completion of projects

Qualifications and Skills 
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in a metal fabrication environment

  • A diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or comparable
  • Experience with performing time studies is an asset
  • PC based skills; Microsoft, AutoCAD, Solid Edge or similar 3D CAD experience
  • Strong technical knowledge and ability in process Engineering disciplines
  • Demonstrate an excellent level of analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues.
  • Ability to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrently
  • Knowledge of manufacturing industry practices and engineering principles

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Required to lay-out the work, prepare joints and produce assemblies of commercially sound quality by electric arc welding (including shielded arc welding) in the flat horizontal and vertical position
  • Will work with hand tools such as hammers, saws, files, other shop tools, scales, calipers, gauges, squares, jigs and fixtures, etc. Electric welder, electrodes, clamps, portable electric tools such as drills, grinders, etc.
Qualifications and Skills 
  • Strong technical ability to understand and demonstrate shop math which includes adding numbers, converting decimals to fractions, determining dimensions, converting measurements, reading and understanding technical documents and working with fractions.
  • The ability to use and understand how to operate a PC to navigate the production ERP system and call upon drawings/BOM for each order.
  • Must have some knowledge of the welding technology including distortion control, equipment used, and metals commonly used
  • Must be familiar with all aspects of M.I.G.
