At Hammond Manufacturing, sustainability isn’t a new initiative or a marketing layer - it’s part of our DNA and it’s built into how we make products every day. Long before it became a headline topic, the mindset here was simple: waste less, use resources wisely, and take care of what’s around us. Today, that philosophy shows up in meaningful, tangible ways across our daily manufacturing processes:
Recycling with purpose – We recover and recycle virtually everything we can - from millions of pounds of steel and aluminum to everyday materials like paper and cardboard - keeping valuable resources in use and out of landfills.
Water treatment – Approximately 98% of water used in our paint process is recovered and reused. The remaining 2% is treated in-house to exceed municipal standards.
Smarter production, smaller footprint – Each year, we recover 85% of the paint used in our powder coating process, preventing 146,200 kg (322,316 lbs) of waste from reaching landfills. By pairing this with energy-efficient, modern equipment, we continuously work to optimize our manufacturing to reduce environmental impact at every stage.
Less paper, more progress – In 2009, we went digital with our product drawings, saving thousands of pounds of paper and improving manufacturing accuracy. This also makes it easier for customers to access the information they need, with instant product drawing downloads available on our website.
Local manufacturing that matters – Producing closer to our customers helps reduce transportation emissions while supporting the communities we operate in.
No Chemical Exposure - Our powder coating process produces no harmful fumes, making it safe for environments like education, healthcare, and offices. Our black powder coat finish (GREENGUARD, TSCA, RoHS compliant) supports indoor air quality and environmental compliance.
