Hammond’s New HJH Series Ticks All The Boxes

Hammond Manufacturing has introduced its new HJH Series, a family of hinged cover metal enclosures, environmentally sealed to NEMA Type 3R, 4 (IP66), 12 and 13. Designed for wall or bulkhead mounting, the HJ  H Series is ideal for housing electrical and electronic equipment in installations where dust and/or water protection is required. The versatile family is suitable for use to house instruments, as an electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic control housing, an electrical junction box or terminal wiring enclosure. An initial 27 sizes, ranging from 4.0 x 4.0 x 3.0 inches (100 x 100 x 75mm) to 16.0 x 14.0 x 10.0 inches (400 x 350 x 250mm), are all available from stock. STEP, DXF and PDF drawings of all sizes can be downloaded from www.hammondmfg.com.

The body of the unit is fabricated from 16 or 14-gauge steel, the covers from 14-gauge, powder coated in ANSI 61 gray. All seams are continuously welded and smooth finished; there are no cutouts, knockouts or holes. External stainless steel hinge and hinge pin, and two stainless steel clamps (one if the height is 6 inches (150mm) or less) achieve the environmental protection, pulling the cover evenly down on to the seamless poured-in-place gasket. The stainless steel hardware allows the units to be hosed down and installed in outdoor locations. Top and bottom mounting flanges on industry standard centers are provided as standard on all sizes. The door is fitted with a bonding stud and the body with a grounding stud.

Removable inner panels, either painted white or with a galvanized finish, are optionally available. An extensive range of accessories, such as terminal straps and brackets, breather kits, filter fans and louvered ventilation plates are either supplied separately or factory fitted.
